Dolby Atmos provides excellent surround sound, and the battery was good enough for a full day’s constant use in our testing. We tested across all connection options and found the Slipstream connection to be particularly impressive in its low-latency reliability. Plus, the headset's multi-connectivity means you can use the Virtuoso XT with almost any device. The ‘broadcast-quality' detachable microphone performs excellently for voice chat with very minor compression - we found that speech was clear with little background fuzz, even across a variety of pitches. Just unboxing the headset gives an immediate sense of quality craftsmanship and class. The sound quality is impeccable, with clear mids, loud bass, and unmuddied high notes in games, music, and movies.

The only negative I have about this piece of equipment is that it isn’t wireless, since wireless is basically the future and I hate it when the cable tangles randomly. Of course these were made for gaming, so I’d suggest you get them for that purpose. You will not go wrong if you invest in these for gaming or if you just want to use them to listen to to whatever you like. I’ve used many Logitech items before and the G430 is the absolute cream of the crop.
I highly recommend getting this pair of gaming headphones. There was one thing about the headset though, and it’s that I actually felt like I was cheating in Counter Strike: Global Offensive since I could hear EXACTLY where everyone was whether they were behind me, in front of me hiding, above me, or below me.
My voice was clear as day, at least according to my teammates in Left 4 Dead 2. I also wasn’t called a “noob” or “loser” for having a crappy mic. I could hear grains of sand falling on the ground around me, the slight breeze in the plains as I rode my horse in Skyrim, and the crisp clear sounds of bass and treble within music accompanied by death-cries as I slaughtered my enemies in Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. All I have to say is that the sound and boom mic on this are absolutely extraordinary. After setting up the surround sound, I tested it out for several days on music, and a majority of my games on Steam that supported surround sound.

Since I already have a Logitech gaming mouse, I was able to setup the surround sound easily through the Logitech Gaming Software setup in Windows. The USB dongle acts as an external 7.1 Surround Sound sound card for the headset itself. Okay here’s the best part of the headset and that’s the innards. I also have a pretty big head, and the entire headset still sat comfortably on my beautiful cranium. The ultra soft cloth ear cups are the pièce de la résistance, because not only do they help keep the gaming sound in the earpiece, but they are the reason why the head set is so comfortable. There’s an on-cable control box attached to the cable that gives you complete control over sound volume, and mic use there’s also nice clip in the back to keep it in place too! The lay-flat earpieces, as they are called, swivel up to 90 degrees, so you can lay them down on your desk with out worry of scratching the side-ends or damaging the earpieces. The speakers completely engulf your ears and drown out about 80 percent of outside sound. Truthfully, I haven’t been blessed with headphones of this maximum comfort before and it felt like I upgraded from a Honda Civic to a Bentley.

The instruction manual and the Logitech Information Sheet completed the inside. The set comes with a USB dongle that lets you attach the 3.5 mm standard protocol connectors from the headset to it. The contents inside the package itself were nicely tucked to into the left side of the box. What can I say? The box is clean, neat, and simple. No lame handles or ultra hard plastics for you to use the jaws of life on just to get at what’s inside it’s pretty straight forward (unfortunately I had to use a pic from the net since I accidentally ripped the side of the box when I tried to open it. I have to say, there aren’t too many gaming headsets that completely blow me away, but this G430 Logitech Headset completely takes the cake.
